1. Do I need planning permission for an external play canopy?

It is likely that planning is required for your space - but it is best that you check with your local planning authority.

2. Modularity is mentioned on the website - can different shapes be joined or just canopies of the same design?

All three types of canopies in the range have been designed to be modular. This means that you are able to combine canopies of the same type together - even differing sizes. For example you will be able to join a 3m x 3m Conical canopy to a 3m x 2m Conical canopy along the 3m side, making a canopy 5m x 3m.

3. How do I go about establishing a cost for my canopy?

To establish the cost of your canopy and the installation cost click here, where a set of guidelines helps you to give us the correct information - so we can give you a cost very quickly.

4. Can I add more canopies to an existing canopy installation?

Once your canopy has been installed it is not possible to add additional canopies with out major work - It involves a complete take down of the canopy - an altering of the connecting nodes and a rebuild. In these cases it would be better to add a separate canopy - perhaps spaced apart from the first - in another location.

5. From agreeing and ordering my canopy - how long will it be until it is fitted?

All our canopies are made to order - to take into account the options of colours etc therefore the manufacture period is 4 weeks.

With regards the installation - our dedicated installation team will install the canopy as close to the time of production as possible - but we will liaise with you to make sure that this is convenient for you.

6. How should I maintain my canopy?

All canopies are made from high quality material, but regular checking and cleaning is always recommended to ensure everyone's safety and a long life span for the canopy.

The fabric canopy itself is made from a lacquered PVC coated polyester and should be cleaned with hot soapy water at regular intervals to prevent dirt build up - particularly bird mess. Regularity of this cleaning will depend on the airborne dirt - e.g. effected by proximity to busy roads, industrial areas and tree sap, but as a minimum we recommend once every six months.

For the aluminium frame - hot soapy water is ideal to remove the dirt build up. If any scratches or breaks in the paint develop due to general wear and tear, we recommend a quick touch up with an enamel type paint.

7. When should I use my side walls and when should I roll them up?

The optional side walls are intended to be used for those times of heavy rain or perhaps if you are trying to visually screen. They should be rolled up when the wind picks up to around 15mph. This will prevent too much lateral loading on the canopy structure and fabric walls themselves.
